Burnie Trunk Main Renewal

One Earth was appointed to undertake the Burnie trunk main installing, DN375 and DN 450 Water Main Replacement. This project was initiated by Tas Water as part of a commitment to upgrading critical water infrastructure across Tasmania. The existing water main had reached the end of its serviceable life and was in need of replacement.

This project involves replacing the existing 75-year-old water main from Mount rd Burnie to three-mile line new 4 km DN 375 and DN 450 main is joined together using a specialised welding machine called butt welding, majority of pipe installation open trenched through farmland and council land. HDD drilling methodology was used under existing roadways for minimal disruption. New hydrants and valves Undertake major and minor connections to existing water infrastructure Pavement and asphalt resurfacing.
